What you'll do...
The Director, Safety Programs (Pickup and Delivery) is a critical leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the safety programs within pickup, delivery and last mile. This role involves strategic planning, KPI development, financial analysis, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to promote a culture of safety across all business units. This role will ensure that safety initiatives are effectively prioritized, integrated, and aligned with overall business objectives and goals. This role will create and develop safety initiatives for 3rd party drivers, InHome Vans and our automated pickup and delivery options.
The Director, Safety Programs will be reporting to the Senior Director, Safety Operations. This is an onsite role based in Bentonville, Arkansas; a full relocation package is available – Remote is NOT an Option
Essential Functions:
Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
Leads safety in the pickup and delivery space to ensure a safe working environment for associates and customers by assessing effectiveness of facility-level safety processes; communicating and executing policies, procedures, and action plans in order to prevent and/or minimize incidents or accidents; ensuring accident investigation procedures are completed per company policies and procedures; providing training material; ensuring our teams have current safety and compliance initiatives; and reviewing and analyzing accident trends to develop and deliver effective safety solutions to reduce risks. Creates training and effective solutions for last mile delivery including InHome operations and last mile delivery options.
Serves as a subject matter expert for safety by developing process, standards, and policies to ensure the organization is meeting safety expectations; reviewing safety action plans; developing metrics, reports, and tracking tools; communicating safety issues to stakeholders; and consulting with cross-functional teams (for example, automation, Legal, Realty, Last Mile, Delivery and other internal and external stakeholders on safety protocols
Directs the development of strategic risk mitigation programs, data systems, and services by leading the development of cross-functional programs; providing direction in the implementation and execution of multiple programs, van fleet safety programs, and services; aligning business objectives and customer needs in the use of third-party service providers; and evaluating and measuring operational program processes to close safety gaps and continually improve programs and services.
Establishes Pickup and Delivery safety vision and strategy to assess and mitigate against enterprise-wide corporate safety risk and liability by aligning corporate positions on safety issues; prioritizing safety and risks based on severity, frequency, and controls; developing transformational policies and standard operating procedures; directing the development of data systems and tools to ensure company knowledge of global trends and standards; and setting risk identification and assessment procedures, practices, protocols, and tools for use in safety programs across the business to ensure organizational alignment.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Safety, Business Administration or related field and 2 years’ experience in safety, automation, last mile delivery or related field OR 4 years’ experience in occupational safety, operations, automation, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years or experience in logistics, transportation, last mile delivery, or a related field with a focus on safety.
Strong knowledge of automated systems, technology, and safety protocols,
Experience with transportation management software and systems with safety features.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
