As a member of the GTAS Interoperability Team in the Global Technology and Enterprise Services (GTES), organization, this position is based in Canada, is a virtual working role and will be focused on seamless integration of new and existing travel servicing and desktop software to ensure the health of end-user desktops, for optimal end user experience with travel servicing and desktop software and end user desktop stability. This role provides a tremendous Opportunity to learn a wide variety of technologies and apply those learnings in day-to-day work. The role requires a strong ability to balance a flexible work schedule – work hours and days could vary based on business need. This role will support clients in a global / international environment, therefore speaking/reading/writing the English language is required in this role. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Hands-on testing of travel and desktop software installations to prepare for pilot and production desktop readiness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate E2E pilot activities, globally, to ready for production deployment.
  • Consult with Product and Development Teams and End User Computing to deploy production versions to end-user desktops.
  • Coordinate and facilitate end-user production validations for network / large change events.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams (i.e., GTAS L2, technical and business product managers, service desk, cyber security team, end-user computing) necessary to prepare end users for pilot and production releases and supporting any troubleshooting of performance issues to resolution.
  • Liaison across cross-functional teams (i.e. testing teams, technical product analysts and managers, developers, and end user computing) to monitor the health of the desktop and performance monitoring and perform hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate a technical issue which could impact applications that translate to a potential impact to the end user.
  • Research and solve issues/problems starting with minimal details, including thinking outside the box to determine what might have caused the problem and the solution.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate a functional or technical issue affecting the end user.
  • Participate in change control process on the CAB.
  • Create and distribute Service Advisory Communications for events related to planned downtime and software updates as part of the change control process.
  • Facilitate video conferences with colleagues to ready support teams and the business for upcoming deployments.  
  • Drive best practices in the pursuit of driving continuous improvement and quality.
  • Prepare and present metrics to Leaders articulating end user experience benefit.    
  • Additional responsibilities will be added to support GTAS Interoperability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with GBT policies and procedures. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to balance a flexible work schedule – work hours and days could vary based on need.
  • Knowledge of GBT desktop applications/tools or equivalent travel technology and industry a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with Amadeus and Sabre GDS is a must for the role.
  • Experience with using the point-of-sale applications, GDS’s and understanding GBT Travel Counselor workflow.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information across multiple audiences that is easily understandable.
  • Ability to think abstractly, analyze, and resolve ambiguous/under-defined problems effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Experience with Windows OS and Office 365. 
  • Familiarity with Tanium Self Service Client a plus.
  • Hands-on individual who is technically savvy & can work well with all levels and virtual teams, both internal & external.
  • Knowledge or experience in using a ticketing system like FreshService, Service Now.
  • Highly disciplined and good time management skills.
  • Expert problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to cope with pressure and delivers results.
  • Self-starter, quick learner with ability and zeal to learn new skills and quickly adapt to changing environment & work with little guidance.
