Creates detailed 3D printed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Works closely with laboratory directors and other team members to produce accurate and high-quality 3D models for various neuroimaging projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Designs, creates and develops 3D models using CAD software based on project requirements and specifications in a cutting-edge biomedical research environment using in-house 3D printers.

  • Collaborates with neuroimaging research faculty and engineers to understand project goals and provide unique design solutions.

  • Performs accurate estimations of project costs and timelines.

  • Performs testing and make necessary revisions and modifications to 3D models as per client feedback.

  • Communicates with team members to ensure project progress and deadlines are met.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong design skills and extensive knowledge of 3D printed design principles and techniques

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Blender, or similar.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality designs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some college courses preferred.
