Job Description
Position Summary:
The Technical Lead (TL) supports the architectural designs and guides execution of goals for their team. The TL values simplicity, diversity of thought and is unafraid to challenge constraints and standard procedures to achieve the desired Agile design in partnership with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Dev Teams and partners across other dependent systems. The TL manages all team members on the Dev team to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses/incorporates future architectural changes and designs. The TL will drive the teams engineering practices in test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment. The TL is a hands-on people manager who can lead their team through complexity and removes roadblocks to ensure success.
You will report to the Director, Salesforce Implementation.
Your Responsibilities:
- In partnership with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Dev Teams and partners across other dependent systems, lead the execution of the design and delivery of the technological architecture of the product
- Partner with peers on dependent systems to align on cross team collaborations & resource support needed
- Guide project teams on technology strategy related to coding practices, continuous integration and automated deployment
- Mentor the technical team, ensuring best practices & industry standards are applied in the day-to-day work
- Be a hands-on and attentive, great TL needs to know the work their team is doing to be support with roadblocks and other challenges
- Work with Business Product Owner(s) to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack
- Be a thought partner with the Product owner(s) in story creation and acceptance criteria, and communicate tradeoffs effectively with stakeholders & dev team
- Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
- Provide the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices for higher code quality
- Research and implement technological strategic solutions.
- Share responsibility with Product Owner(s) for building reusable and scalable components
- Align the organization on complex technical decisions.
- Be and active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team's potential.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Up to 25% Travel may be required for this role.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires 8+ years IT leadership experience.
- SAAS platform experience (Ex. Salesforce)
- Experience leading complex technology solutions that span across multiple systems & integrations
- Implemented and/or supported globally released technology solution
- Seen as an expert within the technical components of the domains/products/journeys.
- Developer or technical leader with a deep insight into newest technologies. trends and best practices
- Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels.
- Develop budget and monitor expenditures.
- Meet with IT staff to determine impact of proposed changes to hardware or software on computer.
- Be able to code and architect back and front end solutions with multiple types or architecture.
- Familiar with production Cloud/DevOps environments, Gearset
- Experience in Agile Development, with SAFe experience.
- Understand relationship with Product Owner, Design Lead and rest of technical team.
- Experience managing technical priorities within the Backlog.
- Experience managing the end-to-end delivery through the aligned team.
- Ability to distill information from disparate data sources and the capability to tell the story behind it, and recommendations for next steps.
- Seek out and embrace relevant perspectives when assessing a situation or a decision; demonstrate clear understanding of multiple viewpoints.
- Strong coordination to help keep the team focused and delivering consistent value.
