The Pricing Solutions Consultant will be responsible for owning and managing all Parts Merchandising programs necessary to execute Caterpillar’s agreements with Managed and Global Accounts Customers.

This position will generate sales variance insights to Pricing and Industry leadership which help govern customer agreements through partnership with Account Managers, Sales Variance Operations, and various Analytics Teams.

This role will interface with dealers globally to ensure adherence to customer agreement merchandising structures and help promote a consistent pricing experience for customers worldwide.

Locations: This role is primarily located in Peoria, but we will consider qualified candidates who reside within 50-miles of a United States Caterpillar facility.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Global lead for all Parts Merchandising programs related to Managed and Global Accounts Customer Agreements, including Customer Appreciation Program, Volume Incentive Program, and Framework Agreement Programs;
  • Consult with Dealers to ensure proper merchandising execution and reporting;
  • Drive adherence to Sales Variance Compliance guidelines and support Sales Variance Operations claim auditing process;
  • Partner with Account Managers and Strategy Managers to understand upcoming customer negotiations and impact to program budgets;
  • Deliver monthly year-end sales variance forecast by customer, dealer, and program to senior leadership teams;
  • Assist with creation of Annual Business Plan sales variance forecast for Resource Industries Strategic Account agreements;
  • Creates vision of Managed Accounts Pricing insights hub and liaison for pricing analytics development pipeline;
  • Support parts sales variance accruals process with Business Resources

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree concentrated in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related fields
  • Demonstrated and progressive job-related experience in the aftermarket space and previous interaction with Dealers
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products or similar products, merchandising programs and business systems is strongly preferred

Top Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Experience in MS Excel, SQL Tools such as Snowflake or similar, and data visualization tools
  • Prior experience as Pricing/Revenue Analyst and Commercial Field Rep
  • Experience managing Parts Pricing Sales Variance and merchandising

  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Working knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Extensive experience in relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
