Who you are:

As a Landman II – Wealth Advisors with Frost, you will be responsible for managing mineral asset portfolios of trust and other fiduciary accounts in the Trust Oil and Gas department. You are a people person and love working with clients, oil and gas operators, and regulatory agencies to negotiate oil and gas contracts, leases, and other agreements. In addition, you will use your analytical skills to ensure the accurate management of mineral asset portfolios with our signature all-win approach in mind.

What you’ll do: 

  • Maintain a portfolio of oil and gas assets held in trust or agency accounts in a fiduciary capacity. Research, review, analyze and interpret land related document to manage and conduct business on behalf of Frost clients.
  • Manage relationships with new and current clients by providing information and updates on account activity. Support business development activities by attending presentations with other Frost Bankers to market Frost’s Oil and Gas services to potential new customers.
  • Negotiate, authorize, and approve custom leasing agreements, and other related contracts including asset ownership rights Develops, Analyzes, and researches land-related documents with custom issues, terms and conditions including asset ownership interests.
  • Periodically review accounts to ensure that they conform to required regulations. Document significant changes in income, expenses, and profitability.
  • Perform custom mineral asset maintenance for trust accounts and other fiduciary accounts including recording new assets and asset transactions, initiating deed preparation, reviewing trust documents, and initiating the appraisal or evaluation of assets.
  • Resolve discrepancies in custom transactions involving mineral properties and financial transactions such as revenue checks through research, analysis, and verification.
  • Manage relationships with Operators to facilitate the completion of projects with extensive leasing activity or number of wells, mitigation of surface issues, and subsequent assignment of project ownership interest.
  • Mentor less experienced Landmen and Land Technicians.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Management, Land Management, in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Oil and Gas
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas software systems
