Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity for the individual to grow and develop within the Finance department. The position will provide exposure to the Company's various divisions and operations and provide insight into how the business is managed.  This individual will have a high level of interaction with other members of the finance teams throughout the organization as well as interaction with other support teams.  Based in the northeast, this position will report to the AVP of Statutory Accounting.

This is a hybrid position with an onsite expectation twice weekly out of out of the Hartford, CT or Jersey City, NJ office. The Accountant role is open to recent graduates with strong internship experience or equivalent hands-on exposure in relevant fields.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Responsible for assisting in the preparation of all NAIC and state regulatory filings for multiple insurance entities
• Work with various departments to obtain required data for statutory filings
• Coordinate and administer filings with state insurance departments

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficient organizational, analytical skills with the ability to multitask and manager time across various roles and responsibilities
• Capability to function in a team environment while assuming increased responsibilities within a dynamic and growing organization
• Willingness to learn statutory accounting and how it differs from GAAP
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to use complex formulas to manipulate large volume of data

Education/Experience 

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance 
• 1-3 years of accounting or finance experience
• Property/casualty insurance and statutory accounting experience are a plus
• Experience with Cognos, Alteryx, TM1, Workday, Sovos/WINGS, GAIN Compliance and One Stream are a plus

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$70,000 - $92,000/year

• Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
