Key Responsibilities
Provide responsive counsel on day-to-day diverse legal issues across the organization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and strategic initiatives
Provide counsel on banking supervision matters, regulatory applications (M&A), and emerging financial services legal issues
Monitor and advise on evolving regulatory requirements and their impact on business operations
Support administration of the Bank’s public records disclosure policy
Advise on employment policies, compliance matters, and risk mitigation strategies
Lead drafting, negotiation, and review of diverse commercial agreements, including service contracts, RFPs, memoranda of understanding, NDAs, licenses, and vendor agreements
Partner with procurement teams to ensure compliant and efficient contracting processes
Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks
Provide counsel and training on employee ethics and compliance policies
Advise and train law enforcement leadership and officers on relevant legal issues
Design and deliver training programs on relevant legal topics for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active bar membership in Missouri or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
Minimum 6-10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, governmental agency and/or in-house legal department
Preferred:
Experience in banking, financial services, or government/quasi-government entities
Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
Strong understanding of employment law, compliance and risk management
Knowledge of the Federal Reserve System, banking operations, or financial regulation
Experience with UCC Article 9, secured lending, or collateral matters
Background in government procurement or public-sector contracting

Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for non-legal audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships across all organizational levels

Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Salary: $ 141,500-$183,900
