Summary/Job Purpose:

The Product Services & Compliance Specialist is responsible for the preparation, creation and maintenance of Property and Casualty products, forms & filings.  This includes working with legal to create and maintain  coverage forms and endorsements.  In addition, you will be responsible for providing training and development to underwriting field staff involving all areas of compliance and form maintenance. You will also work closely with individual line of business staff on all regulatory and bureau changes to rate, rules & forms

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to develop and implement forms, rule or rate filing  (single state filing or a multistate product filing) with minimal management intervention.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate ISO, AAIS, NCCI and other rate and form bureaus and suppliers program and rate and rule revisions. Assist in the planning/decision process, and assist in the development of various disclosures and/or company responses necessary for State Compliance and implementation of revised products.
  • Update and review/revise underwriting documents and related information on the company’s intranet (Wave), including underwriting guidelines for rating, forms, procedural and authority issues, as well as other instructional/directional material, as assigned.
  • Act as a home office resource for field offices as respects  rate, rule & filing issue ie: how our products work/how do our forms interact with our policies etc.
  • Perform complex coverage issues and provide written explanations and direction 
  • Coordinate training programs to provide direction to Underwriters, Operations  or Producers.
  • Participate in special projects at the direction of Underwriting.
  • Monitor & prioritize regulatory and compliance workload according to product development department guideline as well as direction of the manager.
  • Review regulatory publications to keep apprised of new regulatory developments, and evaluate, respond to and implement as required in conjunction with management direction.
  • Participate in underwriting audit process to determine regulatory guidelines are being met.  This applies to all lines of business.

Education and Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred. 
  • 5+ years underwriting experience in a multi-line admitted standard lines environment is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ product services experience is required.
