The Opportunity:

The CACI team is looking to add a Senior Java Developer to their growing software development contract with the Department of State in Rosslyn, VA. The Senior Java developer will support development efforts for a complex case management solution for a federal agency. The solution provides an integrated solution for capturing, sharing, and reporting case related information. It automates, integrates, and improves the investigative business processes, provides investigative/intelligence analysis and analytical processing, and supports electronic data sharing.

The position involves working in both an Agile and Waterfall development environment designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging new software or providing complex enhancements to existing software which modernize this mission critical system. Developers must actively participate in sprint planning and review sessions with the product owner and provide coordination with architecture, information assurance, requirements, testing and configuration management personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes code to create single-threaded or user interface event driven applications, either stand-alone or those which access servers or services.
  • Develops code necessary to complete the assigned project(s) in the specified time frame according to departmental standards and guidelines.
  • Identifies and reports problems in new and existing software. Recreates reported software problems to facilitate solutions. This includes validating the fix for the software problem.
  • Writes, modifies, and debugs software for client applications.
  • Develops the critical components of the solution, including but not limited to, security, rules infrastructure, custom adapter implementation, and application interfaces.
  • Uses source debuggers and visual development environments.
  • Interprets business requirements and implements the necessary technology to fulfill requirements.
  • Profiles, analyzes and optimizes the software he is responsible for implementing.
  • Employs best practices for design, development, unit testing and test plan development.
  • Actively participates in the documentation of software requirements, functional design, flowcharts and diagrams.
  • Supports completed software throughout the Software Development Life Cycle and in production.

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Hands-on experience with:

o    Java 1.8 or later (5 years)

o    J2EE Environment (Servlet, JSP, Web development, Web Service, REST) (5 years)

o    Spring Framework 4.0 or later (4 years) 

o    Spring Security 4.0 (2 years)

o    Spring Web Service 2.0 (2 years)

o    AJAX plus REACT or AngularJS, CSS (2 years)

o    Pivotal tc Server (Tomcat 9.0) (3 years) 

o    Google Chrome DevTools (2 years)

o    Database SQL development (3 years)

o    Eclipse, Debugger (2 years)

o    Java unit testing (JUnit) (1 year)

o    IIS (1 year)

o    Maven (1 year)

o    Gradle

o    Subversion-SVN

o    Jenkins 

o    Artifactory 

o    JIRA 

  • Hands-on experience utilizing and configuring IIS 7.5 as an application server for delivering web application solutions.
  • Experience with Oracle and PL-SQL and simple Database Administration techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques.
  • Ability to learn at a fast pace and be able to rapidly learn and leverage third-party tools, SDKs, and APIs.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and customer relationship management experience.
  • Excellent organization, communication and writing skills, and have the ability to express yourself in technical discussion via strategy, implementation and design of application environments.
  • Familiarity with some or all the following:
    • Subversion
    • Pivotal tc Server.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
