Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in basic commercial concrete forming and general construction practices, including building concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, and structures.
  • Capable of interpreting blueprint readings to plan layouts, select materials, and ensure accurate measurements and markings to prevent errors.
  • Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry work, including installation of doors, frames, hardware, and miscellaneous accessories.
  • Knowledgeable in concrete support tasks, such as heating and hoarding, as well as operating light equipment.
  • Collaborates with the team to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Conducts thorough checks to ensure completed units meet quality standards regarding level, squareness, plumbness, size, shape, and location.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess either a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket or be actively pursuing a Carpenter Apprenticeship from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Non-ticketed Carpenters must provide evidence of relevant hours in the industrial carpentry trade.
  • Essential certifications include Standard First Aid Level C, Fall Protection, and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.
  • Must possess a valid government-issued photo identification.
  • Boom/Scissor Lift or skid steer certifications are considered advantageous.
  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certification is also beneficial.

Work Conditions:

  • Regular 40-hour work week with potential for overtime to meet construction deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Work primarily conducted outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
