 WHO YOU ARE:

Software Engineers are crucial in the design, development/configuration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Zinnia software platforms. Software Engineers work with the product team and business stakeholders to develop solutions and/or products that fulfill the needs of Zinnia's Marketplace business unit. Those solutions and/or products help Zinnia deliver a better and more efficient service to end customers and clients.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Iteratively build features (and squash bugs) for the Zinnia Marketplace team, which helps people get the insurance coverage they need to protect their family, property, and finances 
  • Contribute to strategic integrations and partnerships with external carriers and financial institutions 
  • Collaborate globally on a cross-functional team to identify, prioritize, and take opportunities to help customers get the financial protection they need, and feel good about it 
  • Architect and maintain scalable, extensible code to empower our entire engineering organization to ship products across platforms 
  • Work in a full-stack team and build cross-platform products and features using React, Ruby on Rails, Golang, Python, and lots of REST, GraphQL, and gRPC in between
  • Learn new frameworks and tools to build and support features across multiple platforms and tech stacks 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3–6 years of full-stack software engineering experience with a focus on front-end development (particularly in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React), along with working knowledge of backend technologies like Ruby on Rails, Golang, or Python
  • Experience working with relational databases (i.e., Postgres, MySQL, etc.) 
  • An understanding of distributed systems, cloud technologies (i.e., GCP, AWS, etc), and containerization (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with industry best practices (e.g., CD/CI, agile best practices, unit testing, etc.) ● Proficiency in Git, Jira, and other relevant tools 
  • Experience in designing and developing in a microservices-based architecture 
  • A track record of – and desire to continue – learning new technologies and tools across the stack 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to deliver high-quality code 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment 
  • A strong sense of product and user experience 

QUALIFICATIONS: BTech / BE / MCA / MTech / ME or equivalent qualification from reputed institutes.

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience in Ruby, GoLang, Typescript, and React.
  • Full-stack experience preferred
  •  Experience working in the insurance industry is a plus
