Summary of the Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is a self-motivated individual responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and operational support of industrial machinery and equipment. This role ensures uninterrupted plant operations and efficient service delivery to customers while adhering to safety standards and company protocols.

Location: On-site, Midland, MI

Minimum Requirements

  • Trade school diploma or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, including mechanical systems, pneumatics, electrical systems, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Must comply with all PPE and EHS training and safety standards.
  • Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and work in confined or elevated environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal certifications in electrical systems, instrumentation, or mechanical maintenance.
  • Completion of HAZWOPER, Arc Flash/Electrical Safety, and Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) training.
  • Experience with equipment related to electric power systems, hydraulic/pneumatic instrumentation, and industrial process controls.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant operations, equipment configuration, and system uptime optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair industrial machinery, electrical systems, and instrumentation based on diagrams, manuals, and standard procedures.
  • Test and inspect equipment for proper function; make necessary repairs using appropriate tools and technical data.
  • Install, repair, and maintain power systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation components.
  • Understand and monitor plant equipment and processes to support continuous production and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust configurations and systems as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance issues as required by customer timelines.
  • Adhere to 5 Cardinal Rules and wear designated PPE at all times.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents to a supervisor.
  • Complete required annual trainings: HAZWOPER, Arc Flash/Electrical, Respiratory Protection, and EHS.
  • Lift items over 35 lbs. with appropriate equipment or team assistance.
  • Work in various environments, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and indoor/outdoor settings.
  • Perform tasks in noisy areas or near operating machinery.
