Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervision of ticket sellers.  Ensure that all employees are performing their work timely and accurately and adhering to meal and break policies. Provide advice or guidance on proper selling procedures.
  • Train appropriate personnel on the use of the ticketing system.
  • Assist the director with scheduling for the department, ensuring all shifts are filled properly. Handling communication with team members.
  • Run daily box office reports and prepare deposits. Balance vault monies and coordinate change orders with accounting.
  • Resolve customer service issues and complaints.  Coordinate with other departments when necessary. 
  • Troubleshoot any issues relating to software or point of sale system
  • Review ticketing information for each show build, validating that prices and dates are correct.   Create sales maps and information sheets per event to distribute to internal departments.
  • Keep up to date with ADA rules and guidelines. Monitor the ADA phone line and assist guests.
  • Monitor Box Office phone line and email inbox.
  • Coordinate with contracted group sales company. Process and track group sales orders using ticketing system and online database.
  • May be responsible for ordering supplies, covering shift breaks, assisting during event settlement
  • Creating and updating artwork for Windows, Monitors, and Ticketing Sites.
  • Update and maintain ticket scanners and software
  • Opens and or closes Box Office as required.
  • Scale, Build, and modify events when necessary.
  • Manage internal, external, and group ticket orders in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Act as the on-site Box Office representative on the day of events for all production changes, artist/promoter/VIP program needs, and all other box office-related responsibilities.
  • Work with venue staff to constantly develop and improve the processes, systems, and policies.
  • On a daily basis, properly track and monitor ticket sales and communicate with venue directors.

Supervisory Responsibilities    

Assists the Box office Director with the management of Ticket Sellers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws. Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience        

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-3 years related experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in accounting and customer service is essential
  • Box office experience in a similar environment required
  • Supervisory experience required

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, including record keeping and reconciliation
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
  • Ability to coordinate and schedule staff
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ticket selling/box office operations
  • Ability to count money, make change accurately
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Available to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays

Computer Skills, Proficient In:

  • MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Photoshop
  • CAD
  • All AXS Ticketing Programs
