Job Description (JD) for a Developer with hands-on experience in SAP ABAP S/4HANA and related technologies, targeting 6 to 14 years of experience for an individual contributor role: ________________________________________ Job Title: Senior SAP ABAP Developer (S/4HANA) – Individual Contributor Location: [Bangalore or Remote] Experience: 6 to 14 Years ________________________________________ About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior SAP ABAP Developer with extensive hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA development. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in advanced ABAP programming including CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, and SAP BTP technologies such as CAPM and RAPM. Experience with SAP Integration Suite is essential to design and implement seamless integrations across complex landscapes. This role is for a passionate individual contributor who thrives in a challenging environment and delivers high-quality, scalable solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Develop, enhance, and optimize SAP ABAP programs within S/4HANA environment. • Design and implement Core Data Services (CDS) Views for efficient data modeling. • Develop and maintain ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) to leverage HANA database capabilities. • Create and manage OData services for Fiori/UI5 applications and other frontend integrations. • Build business applications using SAP BTP, focusing on CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model) and RAPM (RESTful ABAP Programming Model). • Utilize SAP Integration Suite tools to design and implement integration scenarios between SAP and third-party systems. • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions. • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and technical documentation. • Collaborate closely with functional consultants, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions. • Stay updated with SAP’s latest technologies and best practices to ensure solutions are future-proof. ________________________________________ Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 6 to 14 years of proven hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, primarily in S/4HANA landscapes. • Strong expertise in: o Core Data Services (CDS) Views o ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) o OData services development and consumption o SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) – Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM) o RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAPM) o SAP Integration Suite (API Management, Cloud Integration, Event Mesh, etc.) • Solid understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 architecture and integration points. • Experience in performance tuning, debugging, and code optimization. • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile development practices. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. ________________________________________ Preferred Skills: • Certification in SAP ABAP S/4HANA or related SAP technologies. • Experience with SAP Cloud SDK and SAP Extension Suite. • Knowledge of other integration technologies like SAP PO/PI. • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development.
