Credit Underwriting Function
In the underwriting capacity, the Credit & Fraud Risk Specialist is responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s financial profile and business health to assess creditworthiness and loan eligibility. PayPal’s specialized underwriting process is a source of competitive advantage and integral to our ability to grow profitably while supporting small businesses. Team members are passionate about helping customers achieve their goals by making sound, data-driven credit decisions that balance growth, risk, and profitability.
Fraud Risk & Investigations Function
In the fraud operations capacity, the Credit & Fraud Risk Specialist is responsible for detecting, investigating, and preventing financial crimes across small business loan applications. PayPal’s investigative and monitoring processes are a critical layer of risk protection and a key differentiator in the industry. This function focuses on identifying suspicious activity, mitigating losses, and protecting both customers and PayPal from evolving fraud threats. Specialists continuously adapt their strategies as fraud patterns and customer behaviors evolve.
This dual-skilled role requires the ability to seamlessly shift between credit risk assessment and fraud risk analysis, applying strong judgment, analytical rigor, and investigative skills.
