As a Senior Aircraft Power Plants Engineer you will be working as part of the highly skilled Operational Support Team (OST) within the Qantas Approved Design Organisation. You will provide specialist production and reactive support to the Qantas Group aircraft in the Operational, Base and Heavy maintenance environment globally. As a Professional Engineer, your experience, knowledge and judgement will be called upon to make mature professional engineering decisions while providing aircraft maintenance support, developing repairs and modification instructions in your defined field of expertise.

You’ll have –

  • Professional Engineering degree qualifications in Aeronautical, Mechanical or equivalent as recognised by Engineers Australia

  • Extensive engineering knowledge and experience on Qantas Group aircraft engines.

  • Extensive experience with development and approval of engineering instructions for repairs and modifications to Boeing or Airbus aircraft engines in the line, base and heavy maintenance type environment.

  • Able to provide timely customer-focused specialist engineering advice and support to the Qantas Group.

  • Thorough working knowledge of CASA regulations is required and an understanding of FAA/EASA regulations is desirable.

  • Managed small design projects or tasks to meet stakeholder requirements.

  • Prioritised and manage multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proven organisational and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Highly developed skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to manage expectations of customers in line with relevant service level agreements.

  • Commitment to being a customer focused team member with flexibility and willingness to contribute to other business projects and interdisciplinary functions as required.
