Summary: As the Lead, Data Migration, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of complex data migration projects. You will lead a team of data migration analysts / engineers & business consultants, coordinating their efforts to ensure the successful transfer of data between systems while maintaining data integrity, accuracy and security.
Note: This role is for second shift 5 pm IST to 2 am IST overlapping with North America Central time zone

Key Responsibilities:
Staffing: Responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
Program Leadership: Oversee multiple data migration projects from inception to completion, including resourcing and planning with the Project management team. 
Strategy Development: Develop migration strategies, methodologies and best practices to ensure efficient and effective data transfer while minimizing risk and disruption to business operations.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in data migration tools, techniques and technologies, including data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes, database management systems and data mapping tools.
Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of source and target data systems, identifying data dependencies, relationships and quality issues to inform migration planning and execution.
Data Mapping and Transformation: Design and implement data mapping and transformation rules to ensure accurate and consistent data migration between source and target systems, considering data format conversions, field mappings and data cleansing requirements.
Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to validate data migration processes, ensuring data integrity, completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT teams, business analysts and end-users, to gather requirements, communicate project status, and address concerns throughout the migration lifecycle.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to data migration projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them, such as contingency plans, data backup procedures and security measures.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure creation of documentation, including migration plans, technical specifications and testing reports, to document project activities, facilitate knowledge transfer and support future audits or troubleshooting efforts. Develop/Publish meaningful metrics to reflect the true status of Migrations.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
•    Overall industry experience of 8+. Proven experience (5+ years) in data migration projects, with at least 1+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
•    Should be hands-on and preferably from BSFI, Fintech, Payments, Lending background
•    Strong understanding of application development processes 
•    Extensive experience in Python programming language and its design concepts
•    Strong fundamentals in Object-Oriented Design and Data Structures
•    Must possess significant SQL expertise to proficiently write and execute complex SQL operations.
•    Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. 
•    Expertise in Agile tools like Jira, bitbucket & Rally
•    Good knowledge of cloud technologies such as Salesforce, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
•    Sound experience and understanding of Cloud, SAAS, API, and Micro Services architecture.
•    Experience with scaling and performance of large systems.
•    Should have experience delivering via partners & SI.
•    Expertise in data migration tools and technologies, such as ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend), database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), and data mapping tools (e.g., ERwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect).
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data structures and dependencies.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Experience in regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and data security best practices is highly desirable.
