The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced IBM Mainframe Operator with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise IBM Mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stable, secure, and uninterrupted operation of mission-critical production systems supporting business-critical applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring production environments, executing operational procedures, managing batch processing, identifying and resolving production issues, and coordinating with technical support teams to ensure maximum system availability and operational excellence.

This position requires excellent analytical skills, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a 24x7 production environment.

Who You Are

• Monitor IBM Mainframe production environments (24x7).

• Execute daily operational procedures according to established run books.

• Monitor system performance and identify potential issues proactively.

• Handle production incidents and perform first-level troubleshooting.

• Monitor and manage batch processing, including JES2/JES3 job execution.

• Restart failed jobs and resolve production issues.

• Work with scheduling tools such as Control-M, CA-7, or equivalent.

• Monitor system consoles and respond to system messages.

• Support IPL activities and planned maintenance windows.

• Escalate incidents according to operational procedures.

• Coordinate with Application Support, System Programmers, Storage, Network, Database, and Security teams.

• Perform backup and recovery operational activities when required.

• Produce shift reports and maintain operational documentation.

• Participate in disaster recovery (DR) tests and production exercises.

• Ensure compliance with operational procedures and security policies.
