POSITION SUMMARY

Leads large private/commercial projects or multiple project teams from start to finish with little oversight. Overall responsibility for the success of a project including customer satisfaction, client engagement, profit & loss, risk management, operations and leadership development of the team. Assists with project development.

                                                                               

OPERATIONS

  • Overall responsibility for the operational performance and profitability of project(s).

  • Executes the Project Financial Plan (PFP) in coordination with the project team and may assist with the development of the plan.

  • Manages project risk; leading teams to analyze potential risks to minimize or eliminate them.

  • Manages schedule management, working with project teams to ensure development of comprehensive project schedules.

  • Manages budget management, works with project teams to successfully project and forecast costs required to successfully complete projects on time.

  • Develops and manages financial forecasting.

  • Implements operational procedures, processes, and systems.

  • Addresses difficult situations and engaging appropriate leaders.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION/CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Assists or leads with the development and implementation of action plans based on client feedback and surveys.

  • Manages conflict with little oversight, ensures issues are resolved and involve the appropriate leaders as necessary.

PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES

  • Ensures the project team’s understanding of the owner contract.

  • Manges the preconstruction process successfully.

  • Leads preconstruction team including preconstruction, project management, field and support services to accomplish associated preconstruction activities.

  • Develops and manages preconstruction schedule.

  • Manages or assists with the permitting process.

  • Manages the trade partner selection process and awards subcontracts.

  • Develops general conditions and general requirements.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

  • Participates in execution of project pursuit proposal responses and interviews.

  • Participates actively in community and professional associates to contribute to the overall community, promote the company and build networks.

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  • Leads staffing and chargeability for project(s).

  • Leads the training and development of project team(s).

  • Leads engagement and retention efforts for the project team(s).

  • Communicates regularly with associates regarding expectations, goals ensuring feedback at all levels within team is communicated regularly. Works to develop career plans for entire team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • 10+ years’ experience.

  • Proficiency in / ability to learn Procore and Microsoft Project to manage all components of the project.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, preferably Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrated ability to take a leadership role on projects from start to finish.

  • Proven consistent track record of successful projects/project management.

  • Proven track record of superior budget management and accurate monthly cost projections.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop project schedules and manage from beginning to end.

  • Proven track record of proactive approach to problem resolution and issues management.

  • Demonstrated relationship skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage more than one project at a time.

  • Proficient in running project-related meetings, including Progress, OAC, and pre-installation meetings.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position requires work in an office environment.
