Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the sales strategy and execution for pool and spa chemical products within the assigned region.  This role is focused on accelerating growth, increasing market share, and supporting customer success by developing and managing regional account plans, leading a high-performing sales team, and building strong relationships with retailers and dealers. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in pool water chemistry, sales leadership, and territory management. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads regional sales efforts for pool and spa chemical products, driving revenue growth and profitability.

  • Develops and executes strategic account growth plans to identify and capture new business opportunities.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with retail partners, dealers, and service professionals.

  • Partners closely with POOLCORP branches and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

  • Delivers training and technical support to customers, focusing on product knowledge, water testing, regulatory compliance, and seasonal programs.

  • Analyzes market trends, competitive activity, and territory performance to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Monitors and reports on sales performance metrics and customer feedback, adjusting strategies as needed.

  • Represents POOLCORP at industry events, trade shows, and customer training sessions.

  • Provides regular updates and analysis to senior management on key account developments and sales initiatives.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop tailored proposals and retail solutions.

  • Identifies opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing client relationships.

  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt issue resolution and proactive communication.

  • Maintains accurate records of sales activities, call reports, and territory insights.

  • Utilizes CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sales software to support customer engagement and performance tracking.

  • Ensures adherence to corporate policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Sales.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience, preferably in distribution or retail.

  • Proven experience leading and motivating a sales team.

  • In-depth knowledge of the swimming pool and spa industry is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and market conditions to develop actionable sales strategies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM and sales tracking tools a plus.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and territories.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% overnight).

The compensation range for this position in remote USA is between $150,000 and $160,000 based on a full-time schedule. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commissions plans as well as relocation or cost of living adjustments.
