What You Will Do:

  • Lead GTM strategies to ensure appropriate application of detailed, quantitative value models for use in Enbridge’s Asset Investment Planning & Management software (Copperleaf) and align with EAM and Next75

  • Lead the develop the organizational change strategy and guide the GTM organization through changes necessary to implement Copperleaf value models and value assessment methodologies

  • Coordinate with Risk Management and other partners to ensure value and risk models align with GTM's risk management processes and specific asset risk requirements

  • Establish the structure required to support the application of value models and completion of value assessments by Asset Integrity, Operations, Engineering & Asset Management, and other sponsors

  • Develop and maintain processes to integrate value models across Operations, Integrity, Engineering & Asset Management, and other GTM partners, resulting in comparable value assessments that enable efficient and effective decision-making

  • Establish the structure required to support the application of value models and completion of value assessments by Asset Integrity, Operations, Engineering & Asset Management, and other sponsors

  • Develop the organizational change strategy and guide the GTM organization through changes vital to implement Copperleaf C55 value models and value assessment methodologies

  • Lead the systemic Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities on data inputs and outputs, as applicable to the development of value models within Copperleaf and investments

  • Develop and maintain logic that is used to support value-based decision-making processes within the GTM organization (e.g. business rules in Copperleaf to optimize capital allocation towards the highest value investments)

  • Develop and implement methodologies for assessing, reporting, and analyzing investment value drivers (cost, risk, compliance, etc.) in aggregate, across specific sets of investments and across investments making up an entire capital budget or long range plan

  • Support the Manager, Asset Investment Planning and Management to ensure value assessment processes integrate with other critical Asset Management processes and practices (i.e. Asset Management Governance

  • Asset Investment Planning & Management, Asset Class Management, Asset System Planning), including other tasks as assigned

  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the AIPM Business Case Development practices (inclusive of people, process, technology) to support the ongoing creation of Maintenance and Enhancement Capital cases, which feed into AIPM Budget Management and AIPM Budget & LRP business processes

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve an Investment Lifecycle Stage-Gating process to serve as the primary means to drive role clarity and expectations in the staged development of business cases, role clarity in the gated approval of reasons to proceed for further development, quality improvements on case data, and discussion on alternatives to address identified risks/issues

  • Supervise initial intake and ongoing quality assurance/control of investments throughout their lifecycle, from first creation in Copperleaf through to end of life in either Copperleaf or Oracle PPM (e.g. rejection, cancellation, or closeout), to ensure high quality business data is being maintained to support decision-making as part of AIPM Budget Management and Budget & LRP processes

  • Lead the management the Copperleaf application as the business unit subject matter expert for the software.  Collaborate with the Enterprise TIS and Asset Management function to ensure successful sustainment of the application.

Required:

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • 10+ years of directly related experience

  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and integrating sophisticated processes that are strategic in nature

  • Strong understanding and ability to apply value assessment methodologies that support decision-making

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing change management strategies and tactics vital to lead an organization to a future state

  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including vital skill in assessing project return, financial metrics and analytics, case development including budgeting and financial management processes

  • Knowledge of risk management practices

  • Proficiency working with office computer applications such as Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Power BI

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner

  • Ability to solve problems by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion

  • Ability to effectively engage audiences and ensure their understanding for a need to change

  • Ability to speak and write and speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner using correct grammar (including presentations)

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of the Natural Gas Industry

  • Experience in development of value assessment methodologies

  • Experience in application of value models

  • Broad technical knowledge coupled with an ability to convey highly technical information in a way other partners are able to understand and operationalize.

  • Ability to present and facilitate to a wide variety of audiences including technical and management in an effective manner which requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with design, implementation, sustainment and continuous improvement of integrated management systems

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed both in field and office.

  • Travel approximately 10% of the time.

  • Exposed to situations where incumbent is required to lead without direct influence.
