What you will be doing?     

Reporting directly to the Operations Support Manager you will work with other teams to drive continuous improvement across our Treatment Works and Pumping Station Assets. Providing Technical support, expertise and advice to deliver effective and efficient operations of Water Recycling Operations resources, processes, assets and systems. 

As part of your role you will identify, implement and share improvements to facilitate effective and efficient operation of the Water Recycling Operations process, working closely with relevant teams to delivery efficient solutions to operational issuesThis will include coaching and supporting in the development and performance management of Technicians. 

Key tasks include:      

  • Develop, encourage and foster good and safe working practices and work in accordance with the Company’s safety rules at all times 

  • Lead on investigation of safety, operational and customer issues associated with Water Recycling Treatment and Pumping Station processes and liaise with relevant stakeholders to deliver the most cost-effective solution whilst balancing the needs of the customer 

  • Manage available resource to minimise compliance or pollution incidents due to loss of service or asset failure 

  • Assist management with completion of reports and lessons learned/storyboards following incidents to minimise business risk and ensure best practice across teams 

  • Drive continuous improvement of process and service through implementation of new ideas/equipment 

  • Provide expert support to monitor and coach field resources in techniques/equipment used for the service and maintenance of treatment processes and asset               

What does it take to be a Senior Operations Technician?      

  • Full driving licence       

  • Demonstrate experience and awareness of Health and Safety within an operational environment 

  • Ability to adapt communication style (both written and verbal) to suit a wide range of internal and external stakeholders 

  • Demonstrate customer service skills and ability to deal with customers in an empathetic and professional manner 

  • Knowledge or understanding of wastewater systems and processes would be beneficial  

  • In this role you must be able to work within a confined space, and at height without restrictions.  Due to harness weight limits, your maximum weight cannot be in excess of 113 kilograms, and you will be expected to complete relevant occupational health checks including Hand-arm Vibration (HAV)
