Here, you’ll turn your passion into reality. You will be responsible for delivering advanced models and analytics, working with a diverse range of modern technologies and data to uplift our cyber defence capabilities, enhancing the risk outcomes and the customer experience, supporting the Cyber Security stakeholder group. In this role, you will be developing and implementing AI in key areas of Cyber Defence Operations to uplift Group’s ability to prevent, detect and respond to the evolving cyber threat landscape.

Technology is responsible the information technology systems for the Group, including information management. It is the key differentiator in how CBA delivers value to our customers and provides foundational services for the Australian economy.

We are a part of the Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) team that is responsible for leading the delivery of world-class data, analytics, and technology capabilities to improve the financial well-being of our customers and communities. The Technology Data Science team supports different areas within Technology space such as Group Security that includes Fraud management and Cyber Security, Retail Technology, Chief Technology Office etc.

We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few. We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in Model development including understanding the value of industry leading models.
• Awareness of the end-to-end delivery of advanced models and Gen AI solutions, from translation of business problem to a technical solution and manipulation of large and complex data assets through to advanced and automated model management.  
• Passion for working across a broad range of business challenges and data, from improvements and optimisation in existing processes to green-field problem spaces, in a transparent and risk aware manner.

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant `experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

• Tertiary qualifications, with above average academic achievements, in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics, actuarial science, engineering and data science. A solid foundation in applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques is essential. 
• Programming skills in R, Python SAS and SQL, and manipulation of large and complex datasets, Machine / Deep Learning / Gen AI / Natural Language Processing.
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, Spark, Hive), data analysis tools (R, Python) and data integration techniques.
• Solid time management and prioritisation skills.
• Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including ability to interpret and report complex material and make sound recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
• Experience in developing AI solution for cyber security is a plus.
