Under the direction of the Manager of Physical Medicine the Speech Language Pathologist – Clinical Fellowship Year, will provide direct patient (neonatal to Geriatric) care from a referring physician to include, but not be limited to evaluations, treatments through goal oriented program planning, implementation & education of patient/family.  The Speech Language Pathologist CFY will also directly assist in the supervision of supportive STAFFs it relates to patient care and assist in the operation of clinical education programs when appropriate.

Your Job Requirements:

Must be a graduate of an accredited university of Speech Pathology and Audiology with a certification of clinical competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Must hold a current Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.

Must have experience treating aphasia, dysphasia and other neurologic diagnoses as related to verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

 

Your Job Responsibilities:  

 

Administers speech therapy by physician order according to established policy and procedure. (65%)

Performs administrative duties including data collection and documentation, charging patient for treatment performed, and coordinating treatment schedule with Physical Medicine STAFFnd other Medical Center departments. (20%)

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. (10%)

Assumes responsibility for professional growth with involvement through CEU and inservices. (5%)

Utilizes appropriate customer scripting as evidenced by observation and improved patient satisfaction.
