As a clinical product development manager, you will support a strategic multi-year roadmap focused on delivering integrated enterprise value, transforming the role of pharmacy, and innovating engagement and care delivery solutions to create meaningful and personalized experiences for patients.  

 

In this role, you will develop, design, test, and scale a suite of Retail Pharmacy health services aimed at improving health outcomes, reducing medical costs, and improving patients’ engagement and experienceYou will use your clinical expertise to shape the program and intervention design, train field pharmacy colleagues, collaborate with cross-enterprise stakeholders to launch the program and manage performance to ensure its success and clinical quality. 

 

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

Clinical product development (estimated 30% of time)

  • Partner cross-functionally to design product workflows that deliver improved health outcomes and scalable pharmacy health services solutions 

  • Define and operationalize clinical logic and product features that balance clinical and regulatory requirements, interoperability standards, business operational considerations, and evidence-based medicine 

  • Document clinical program requirements and target patient outcomes; collaborate with cross-functional partners, technology, and analytics teams to ensure appropriate documentation of outcomes 

  • Align product solutions with medical cost savings and comprehensive quality measures (e.g., CMS) to ensure clinical excellence and adherence to industry best practices; partner with analytics team on measurement plan 

Implementation of new clinical programs (estimated 40% of time)

  • Create clinical content for pharmacy colleague-delivered patient interventions 

  • Receive required approvals from legal, medical affairs, clinical, and patient safety teams 

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines 

  • Ensure alignment with clinical standards and operational best practices  

  • Partner across departments and business units in the enterprise to support execution of project plans 

  • Communicate plans, risks, and opportunities from working team up to executive leadership 

Field support and communication strategy (estimated 20% of time)

  • Create field facing training and communication materials for successful program launch 

  • Provide ongoing training, change management, and support for field pharmacy colleagues to ensure they are equipped to engage patients and deliver high-quality, locally-tailored interventions  

  • Maintain ongoing field communication strategy, including answering questions and alerting leaders to program updates 

  • Collect feedback from patients and pharmacy colleagues to iterate the program roadmap and overcome barriers 

Ad-Hoc analytics and insights (estimated 10% of time)

  • Translate program performance and clinical data insights into clear, strategic narratives for internal and external leaders and stakeholders 

  • Support analysis for deep dive/follow up questions related to performance of programs and progression towards shared goals 

  • Support creation of materials for cross-enterprise stakeholders and leadership 


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant clinical experience within pharmacy 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience in a highly complex environment 

  • Experience developing, implementing, and executing pharmacy programs 

  • Experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.  

  • Ability, and willingness, to travel occasionally up to 20% of time, based on needs of the business. 


Preferred Qualifications

  • PharmD and/or Registered Pharmacist 

  • Experience working within a value-based care model  

  • Experience working with payers and/or PBMs 

  • Experience understanding and breaking down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions.  

  • Experience collaborating effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
