The Integration Engineer guides global merchants and partners through the technical integration of PayPal products, ensuring seamless API and commerce solution implementation. The role delivers scalable, high-quality integrations that power innovative fintech experiences across platforms.

Our Integration Engineering team partners with Global Strategic and Global Partners to deliver PayPal integrations across mobile, online, and in-store platforms. We collaborate with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Identity to drive successful launches and scalable solutions worldwide.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with deployment teams and product development teams to diagnose and resolve issues encountered during product integration.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the merchant for all implementation-related activities throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Facilitate setting up of test accounts, provide technical development support, and guide the merchant through testing, validation, certification pre-launch activities, and post-sales performance.
  • Be customer-facing as the technical lead and drive technical conversations that result in the delivery of the project.
  • Provide customer support via phone and chat and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Advise management and appropriate groups on support issues impacting customer satisfaction and provide recommendations for appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of merchants' product, process, and technical requirements of payment processing across all channels and the ability to match these with existing solutions.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Your day-to-day:
In your day-to-day role, you will….    

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for partners and merchants throughout the end-to-end integration lifecycle 

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and guide clients through development, testing, and pre-launch activities 

  • Provide hands-on coding support and troubleshoot complex API and integration issues across web and mobile platforms 

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to address feature gaps and enable successful launches 

  • Serve as the “Voice of the Customer,” delivering feedback to internal teams to improve product usability and functionality


What do you need to bring: 

  • Strong experience with web and mobile technologies, including APIs, REST, Web Services, HTTP, and modern application frameworks.

  • Proficiency in one or more major programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, C++, or similar.

  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical designs and integration solutions.

  • Proven troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve integration and API-related issues. 

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and C-level stakeholders effectively
