At Manulife, the Senior Data Engineer position on our Global Data Management Services team offers a unique opportunity to play a vital role in developing and maintaining our data architecture. Position Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant services.
• Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency, and prepare it for analytical and operational use.
• Adhere to data governance policies and processes to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business team members to understand data requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
• Stay current with the latest tools and technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance Manulife's data infrastructure.
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid setup, 3 On-Site Days/Week
• Shift schedule: Mid-Shift (3PM-12AM/4PM-1AM) , *depending on DST

Required Qualifications:

• At least 6 years of relevant industry experience as a Data Engineer, with proficiency in building and operationalizing data pipelines in MS Azure, including intermediate skills in either Azure Data Factory or Azure Databricks.
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL Queries.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
• Familiarity with programming in both compiled languages (Java, Scala) and scripting languages (Python, SQL, R), with a requirement for proficiency in either SQL or Python.
• Experience in automating data pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DevOps and CICD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of ADLS gen 2, Synapse, and SQL Server.
