What We Offer  

  • Compensation – We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs. We offer a competitive hourly rate based on education level and qualifications, as follows:

    • Undergraduate students: $25.00/hour

    • Graduate students: $29.00/hour

    • Ph.D./JD students: $37.00/hour

  • Hybrid work option Staff will be assigned to one of our offices, including: Washington, DC (Headquarters); Ashburn, VA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX office or location. Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their supervisor. Travel to an assigned office or location for commuting purposes will not be considered reimbursable business travel, unless otherwise required by state law. Business travel is reimbursable in an amount not exceeding the cost to travel from the assigned office or location, unless otherwise required by state law. 

Role Summary

The PCAOB Business Process Innovation (BPI) Summer Intern is a position on the BPI team in the Enterprise Strategy and Project Management Office (ESPMO) of the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) department. Reporting to the Manager, BPI, the Intern’s primary responsibilities include supporting the BPI team on process improvement initiatives and assisting with BPI program management duties. In addition to working with fellow BPI team members, the Intern will interact with other ESPMO teams, as well as staff and leaders within the OCOO.

The Intern will utilize and develop business analysis and business process management (BPM) skills through hands-on work experience, allowing the Intern to grow skills and contribute in a meaningful way. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a multi-faceted professional environment and works professionally with others.

Responsibilities

  • Attend requirements and process working sessions to assist the BPI team with capturing and interpreting stakeholder input.

  • Assist with the maintenance of the enterprise business process repository.

  • Assist with development of process data reports.

  • Contribute to BPI team brainstorming sessions.

  • Assist in development of communications and presentations to stakeholders.

  • Participate in special projects or other team assignments, as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise/Skills and Abilities

  • Current academic enrollment at the undergraduate (junior or above) or graduate level, pursuing a degree in business administration or an MBA and has preferably completed intermediate courses in strategic planning, data analytics, program, or project management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint Online.

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization, such as flowcharting.

  • Excellent analytical, research, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Possesses curiosity skills: the desire to learn, explore, discover, and grow. Demonstrates a willingness to test new processes and technologies as potential solutions for business clients.

  • Process-oriented with a drive to simplify and improve processes.

  • High level of customer focus and service excellence.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as cross-functionally, and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project.

  • Ability to effectively execute detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy and at times to multi-task.
