The Product Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, lifecycle management, and execution of assigned products / product lines. Manages multiple product lines and their growth through strategic product planning and marketing, including the development of robust technology roadmaps. Will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure products meet market needs, regulatory requirements, and program objectives. Role has the authority to develop goals, budget and business plan for assigned product lines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Defines and owns the product vision, strategy and roadmap for assigned product(s) or product line(s). Manages full lifecycle from concept through obsolescence, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements. Collaborates on the development of new product specifications to address issues and enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads long-range planning and annual operating plans for the product portfolio, including financial and programmatic targets. (20%)
  • Leads cross-disciplinary product teams (including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and contracts) to deliver product and program outcomes. Drives development and execution of product business cases, pricing strategies, investment justifications and gate reviews. Maintains market position of products by managing existing product lines and competitive market information. Participates in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, and product positioning. (20%)
  • Assesses needs and opportunities for new products through research and feasibility analysis. Leads commercialization efforts of new products with cross-functional teams. (20%)
  • Develops goals, budget and strategic business plans for their product lines. Recommends ways to expand sales and profitability in specific markets. Provides sales staff with comparative product analysis; feature and benefit summaries; supporting promotional material; target customers; and product marketing strategies. Conducts product training sessions and manages relevant trade shows. Works with Technical Publications and Engineering to ensure high-quality production of product technical literature. (20%)
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations, export controls and internal quality standards. Leads and supports internal and customer audits related to product performance, certification and documentation. (20%)

Representative Qualifications:

  • Experience in product management or program management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex products or product lines.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
