The Curriculum Developer, K-5 Customizations Print Support Team, Mathematics will help develop print state customizations of Amplify Desmos Math, Grades K through 5 for mathematics, particularly the authoring and proofing of print assessments, print practice sets, and math language development activities with teacher support. 

The Curriculum Developer, K-5 Customizations Print Support Team will report to the Vice President, Curriculum, Standards, and Publishing – Mathematics, but will work closely with and take direction from the Lead, State Customizations Print Support Team, Mathematics.

*Note: This is a contract role ending Spring 2025.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manuscript Authoring and Proofing 

  • Author print unit-level assessments for state customizations for a given grade or grades,  across Grades K through 5, including student assessments and teacher support pages.

  • Author print lesson-level practice sets for state customizations for a given grade or grades, across Grades K through 5, including student practice pages and teacher support pages.

  • Author lesson-level math language development activities for state customizations for a given grade or grades,  across Grades K through 5, including proficiency-leveled support determined by state English language development standards, student activity pages, and teacher support pages.

  • Proof all of the pages during the production process.

  • Follow all authoring guidelines and the Amplify Desmos Math style guide.

  • Ensure that manuscripts and other deliverables are completed on time in accordance with the production schedule. Check off tasks using Smartsheet as they are completed.

Documentation 

  • Complete asset trackers for all art and images required. 

  • Update bookmaps with the correct number of pages and ensure the bookmaps are accurate during the manuscript and production process. 

  • Complete standards correlation charts for assessments, practice sets, and math language activities.

Collaboration and Feedback

  • Work closely with and take direction from the Lead, State Customizations Print Support Team, Mathematics.

  • Incorporate comments and feedback from stakeholders, including the Lead, State Customizations Print Support Team, Mathematics, the Amplify Editorial Team, and the Vice President, Curriculum, Standards, and Publishing - Mathematics.

  • Working as a team with other curriculum developers, peer review each other’s work for coherence, content coverage, standards coverage, mathematical accuracy, clarity of purpose, ease of use, age appropriateness, and adherence to product vision.

  • Work closely with the Project Management team and other department leaders to monitor project health, and identify and resolve issues and risks. Communicate any risks with resolution options as early as possible.

Help Complete State Correlations

  • Upon request, assist the Vice President, Curriculum, Standards, and Publishing - Mathematics in completing customer-facing state and/or district correlation or other content-related rubrics.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of experience in either an educational setting with evidence of excellence in instruction in math for relevant grade levels or 2+ years of curriculum development experience with elementary mathematics, including prior experience developing assessments, practice materials, and materials to support English Learners

  • Familiarity with mathematical curricula, Common Core and state standards, and pedagogical trends across K-5, including familiarity with English language development standards

  • Comfort using Google Docs and Suggesting changes (i.e., “track changes”)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Experience working effectively across teams with diverse priorities and focus

  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in mathematics and education

Preferred Requirements :

  • Prior experience with bookmaps in a print publishing industry

Compensation:
This is a contract position ending in Spring 2025. The hourly rate for this position is $40.
