Working as part of a cross-functional team you lead the RDQ activities required to complete new product development and maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects keeping in mind the goal to deliver the desired consumer experience.
How you will contribute
You will work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead and coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.

The Senior Scientist I is an experienced and highly skilled professional responsible for leading and executing complex research and development projects from conception through implementation. This role requires a strong scientific foundation, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Senior Scientist I will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of new technologies, products, or processes
What you need to know about this position:
Project Design and Execution; Independently or as part of a team, design, plan, and execute complex research projects and experiments. This includes defining hypotheses, establishing methodologies, and determining necessary resources.
Data Analysis and Interpretation; Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical tools and techniques. Derive scientifically sound conclusions and present them clearly and concisely.
Development and Optimization: Research, develop, and optimize new formulations, processes, methodologies, or products, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.
Technical Problem Solving, Identify and resolve challenging technical and scientific problems that arise during the course of research and development.
Documentation and Presentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation. Effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Cross-functional Collaboration, actively collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, marketing, quality, etc.) to ensure successful knowledge and technology transfer.
Mentorship and Guidance, Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and technicians, fostering their professional development and contributing to team growth.
Technology Watch, Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and industry trends through scientific literature, conferences, and professional networks.
Regulatory Compliance, Ensure all research and development activities comply with safety, quality regulations, and internal company policies
Education / Certifications:
Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science, etc.) with at least 5-8 years of relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading and executing R&D projects from initial concept to commercialization or technology transfer.
Proven track record of innovation and complex problem-solving.
Experience using instrumentation and laboratory techniques relevant to the field
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
