About the Role: IT Service Management Data Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and versatile professional to join our team as a Service Management Data Analyst with BI Developer capabilities. This role involves due diligence, requirement gathering and creating dashboards for the development and enhancement of business intelligence solutions.  

The Team: The service team’s goal is to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and innovative DTS (Digital Technology Services) services/solutions that enable seamless experiences for our end users and customers to drive S&P Global to Power the Market of Future. Comprising of the Service Delivery Management, ITSM and AI/Ops, this team aims at delivering operational experience via agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs working to deliver a seamless Digital Experience across our stakeholder groups from our developers to our end-users. In the world of data analysis, “Performance Analytics & SLM” a space within ITSM plays a vital role in decision making. We are responsible for producing meaningful insights out of the large data that enables the leaders to take data driven decisions, focus on areas that need attention and show insights on areas that have performed good, bad or need improvement. 

Responsibilities and Impact: The ITSM Analyst plays a critical role in maximizing the performance of IT services. By focusing on quality, efficiency, user experience, and continuous improvement, they directly contribute to the overall success and agility of an organization 

Business Intelligence Development:  

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements.  

  • Create data models, transformations, and data visualizations to support decision-making processes.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop solutions accordingly.  

Integration and Automation:  

  • Integrate Power BI with various data sources and systems.  

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure timely and accurate data availability for reporting.  

  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency.  

Documentation and Training:  

  • Document configurations, processes, and best practices for Power BI administration.  

  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and internal teams to enhance their Power BI proficiency.  

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

Development Capabilities:  

  • Knowledge of Power BI development tools and languages, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).  

  • Experience in integrating Power BI reporting seamlessly into applications.  

  • Cloud Platforms:  

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, for Power BI.  

  • Understanding of cloud-based services and how they relate to application hosting and data storage.  

Data Modeling and Analysis:  

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts for Power BI. 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets for meaningful insights.  

  • Performance Optimization:  

  • Skills in identifying and implementing performance improvements for Fabric applications and Power BI reports.  

  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and optimizing resource utilization.  

Soft Skills:  

Problem-Solving:  

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to Power BI effectively.  

  • Communication:  

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and end-users.  

Documentation:  

  • Ability to document configurations, processes, and best practices for Power BI.  

Training:  

  • Capability to provide training and support to end-users and other team    

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience acquired by working in an analytical role. 

  • Power BI Certified Data Analyst Associate Certification Preferred.  

  • Familiarity with other BI tools and reporting solutions.  

  • Knowledge of PowerShell.  

  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.  

  • Solid understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
