The Opportunity:


The Restorative Care Aide assists in carrying out a broad range of interventions which engage residents in their care and maximize resident potential for independence, improved mobility, and transferability. The Restorative Care Aide provides support, assistance, and education for selected residents in order to achieve increased independence in activities of daily living, communication and mobility.

What Is In It For You:


• Assists in gathering residents as needed for small group restorative programs.
• Reinforces resident and staff education related to the restorative interventions and related techniques and processes.
• Maintains or assists with the maintenance of a record of residence wheelchairs or assistive devices that are on loan to residents.
• Maintains assistive devices and other resources in a safe and orderly fashion that follows the homes infection control practices.


What You Will Need:


• Previous experience in a long-term care setting or working with seniors is preferred.
• Post-secondary education or a college diploma/certificate in the health services field
• A diploma/certificate in one or more of the following is desired: Personal Support Worker, Physio/Rehabilitation, Activation, Gerontology and/or Recreation Leadership.
• Additional education, training, or courses specific to Restorative Care and related techniques.
