System Service Engineer

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated Junior System Services Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will provide technical support for our infrastructure services, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities and Duties

Infrastructure Support (70%):

 

1. Troubleshoot Windows-based systems and applications.
2. Perform disk clearing, cleanup, and optimization.
3. Run backup jobs using backup software (e.g., Veeam, Veritas).
4. Install, configure, and patch applications and operating systems.
5. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies.

 

Automation and Scripting (5%):

 

1. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation tasks.
2. Utilize Ansible for configuration management and automation.

 

ServiceNow and Ticketing (10%):

 

1. Use ServiceNow ticketing services for incident management.
2. Create, update, and resolve tickets.
3. Collaborate with teams to resolve complex issues.

 

Monitoring and Documentation (10%):

 

1. Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
2. Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure and processes.
3. Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.

 

Other Responsibilities (5%):

 

1. Participate in on-call rotations.
2. Assist with IT projects and initiatives.
3. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

 

Qualifications and Skills

         3-5 years of experience in system administration.

         Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

          Familiarity with PowerShell scripting (basic/intermediate level).

           Basic understanding of Ansible and configuration management.

           Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.

          Familiarity with backup software and disk management
