The COO Technology group delivers technology solutions for the Chief Operating Office, supporting operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity, resiliency, data services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and corporate properties. Our mission is to modernize and optimize technology platforms for these critical functions.

Within COO Technology we are seeking an Enterprise Data Architect for COO-DAR to lead the design and governance of cross-domain data architecture aligned with enterprise standards and business strategy. This role ensures a unified, scalable, and secure data ecosystem across COO domains, including operations, risk, finance, client, and regulatory functions. 

The architect partners closely with enterprise architecture, platform, security, and engineering teams to deliver compliant, cloud-native data solutions in a highly regulated financial services environment. This role balances domain autonomy with centralized governance, enabling reusable, interoperable, and future-ready data platforms.  

In this role, you will:

  • Define target-state enterprise data architecture across domains, including shared and reference data for COO, risk, finance, client, operations, and regulatory reporting
  • Design and standardize cloud-native data platforms on AWS and GCP, ensuring scalability, resilience, interoperability, and cost optimization
  • Establish domain-oriented data ownership models, including data contracts, metadata standards, lineage, and governance frameworks
  • Drive enterprise data governance by implementing policies, controls, and standards aligned with regulatory and risk requirements
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams to implement IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and data protection controls
  • Lead architecture reviews for modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, and new platform implementations
  • Translate regulatory, compliance, and risk requirements into actionable architecture designs and technical solutions
  • Influence enterprise stakeholders and engineering teams on data strategy, platform standards, and domain-driven architecture adoption
  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop the data architectural framework & delivery for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering products and solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing the transformation strategy describing the current state, target state, and transition architecture
  • Drive target investments towards target technologies and rationalize spend, total cost of ownership, and return on investment
  • Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices as it transforms toward target state architecture
  • Drive the definition, establishment, selection of strategic tools, and application of architecture frameworks
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization and can influence internal and vendor roadmaps in a significant capacity

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise architecture, or platform engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in AWS or GCP cloud platforms within large-scale enterprise environments
  • 5+ years of experience with data modeling, distributed systems, integration patterns, and analytics platforms
  • 5+ years of experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in regulated industries
  • 4+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD practices
  • 7+ years of experience with stakeholder management including influencing senior leadership

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with data mesh, federated governance, or domain-driven architecture models
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect and/or GCP Professional Cloud Architect / Data Engineer
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code, cloud security frameworks, and architecture guardrails
  • Exposure to multi-cloud architectures, identity federation, and enterprise platform integration
  • Experience with AWS/GCP cloud computing platform
  • Experience with knowledge graphs and semantic search 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical audiences
  • Advanced Data Modeling skills, including data modeling in tabular and MPP models, design, composite models, and performance optimization of large, complex datasets
  • Strong SQL expertise and hands‑on experience with Starburst and/or Trino, including connector configuration, query optimization, and secure data federation across GCP data stores
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on partnering across business, finance, risk, and technology teams to deliver high‑quality, reconciled data, APIs, and reporting outcomes

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
