Job Summary
This position supports the Frozen Section Laboratory by managing daily workflow and handling surgical pathology cases from start to finish. Responsibilities include tissue procurement for research, specimen accessioning, dissection, sampling, and writing gross descriptions for pathology reports. The role ensures research samples are collected without impacting patient diagnoses, maintains lab quality and safety standards, and supports training for students and residents.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Clinical Pathology required or Master's Degree Pathologists' Assistant preferred

Experience as a Pathologists' Assistant 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of human anatomy, tumor staging guidelines and medical terminology.
- Extensive knowledge of how to approach wide variety of surgical specimens.
- Demonstrates the highest level of technical expertise.
- Must be able to make independent, effective decisions in appropriate situations.
- Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds.
