Role:

The Data and Operational Reporting Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project. As a Data and Operational reporting Lead for Custody Technology you will work together with product development and operational teams and members of the development team to provide solutions to modernizing and optimizing the current reporting platform and optimize data integration with data warehouses, finance systems, data lakes, and other consumers of Custody and securities data. This role will develop engineering solutions to reduce latency, increase flexibility and reduce technical debt. This role will work with global teams supporting a franchise critical business, and partner with Citi Technology Infrastructure teams, middleware, and partner development teams for evolving the data highways across services.

Responsibilities:

  • The position will be responsible for re-engineering the data flows from the Securities services - Custody product processor and other data platforms for build best in class operational and regulatory reporting platform.
  • Drive the data architecture and roadmap for eliminating non-strategic point to point connections and batch handoffs.
  • Define canonical data models for key entities and events related to securities trade settlement and corporate actions processing in line with the data standards. Assess opportunities to simplify/rationalize/refactor the existing database schemas paving way for modularization of the existing stack.
  • Design an Operational Data Store for intra-day and end-of-day reporting.
  • Design self-service reporting capabilities for Operations, using latest tools and technologies.
  • Formulate efficient approach to rationalize thousands of reports and standardize data attributes and optimize for performance and scalability.
  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team Build and nurture a strong engineering organization to deliver value to clients.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with all stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in operational reporting, data modeling, data lineage analysis preferably in a global organization
  • Proven architecture experience in building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient data distribution platforms
  • Proficient in message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Extensive experience with Data Integration and data streaming patterns Preferred Experience/Familiarity with one or more of these tools Relational SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud Native databases – MS SQL Server, Snowflake Experience with data pipeline and orchestration.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services - Aurora, RDS, Redshift
  • Experience with messaging and stream-processing – IBM MQ, Kafka
  • Experience with ETL tools - Talend, Ab Initio
  • Experience with Data Analytics/visualization tools – PowerBI, Tableau
  • 8-10+ years relevant industry experience, 5+ years of data modeling experience


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
