A Day in the Life

The Endoscopy Operating Unit, part of the Medical Surgery Portfolio Group, focuses on delivering unmatched value to its customers by providing innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes, lower the cost of healthcare delivery and allow early detection and then treatment of chronic diseases and cancers affecting the entire GI Tract and Hepatopancreatic system.
We are looking for a specialist to develop and expand our PillCam Capsule Endoscopy Platform across our UK North Region. The role will focus heavily on the development of Colon Capsule services and require close working with both Regional and National stakeholders. The UK and Ireland Region is leading the way with how Capsule Endoscopy services are developing. The specialism has developed from solely a hospital based Small Bowel service delivery model to one where a variety of capsules are delivered by specialist Capsule Endoscopy users across both Acute and Community settings. This is an exciting role for an experienced professional with excellent knowledge of the evolving Capsule Endoscopy Market. Ability to travel 50-60% weekly across the North of the UK.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Drive Colon Capsule service expansion by setting up new services, strengthening existing ones, and implementing a regional process to track and scale adoption.
• Support optimisation of Colon Capsule delivery including patient selection, preparation, business case/health economics guidance, and resource utilisation (IT equipment, DR3/belts, workforce, reading services).
• Lead market growth initiatives by partnering with the RSM and Marketing to execute conversion and expansion plans (e.g., SB Genius Kit) and identify top regional growth accounts.
• Act as regional Capsule Endoscopy subject matter expert, promoting Cloud Reader adoption, supporting Trusts/Regions, and collaborating with the Endoscopy Customer Success Manager for smooth implementation.
• Expand PillCam adoption across pathways, including pan enteric Crohn’s capsule, developing KOL and Rising Star engagement plans, and strengthening relationships with Capsule Nurses to build community and brand loyalty
• Lead key account activities and strategic planning, including customer business reviews, aligning with NHS strategic priorities (10 year plan, Cancer Plan, ICS evolution), and supporting training/events that grow the capsule reader base.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent knowledge of the capsule endoscopy market and experience of delivering large scale capsule conversions
• Understanding the market size and adoption barriers the organization is entering to maximize an opportunity or adoption and partner with marketing on solutions
• Reimbursement/payer knowledge; especially from markets with a DRG reimbursement system environment
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
• Methodical and accurate approach with good communication skills
• Enthusiastic and engaging personality, professional teaching style and the ability to work as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills
