Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Software Engineer specializing in ETL development and emerging technologies. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize data integration and transformation solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs. Your expertise will support ongoing digital transformation initiatives, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure data workflows aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.


Software Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of data management and integration concepts, including data warehousing and ETL processes

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js, with experience applying these skills to data workflows

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases like Oracle, MySQL, or comparable systems

  • Familiarity with data transformation and pipeline tools such as Informatica, Talend, or equivalent

  • Experience integrating emerging technologies like IoT, blockchain, or cloud platforms into data solutions (preferred)

  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies for development and deployment


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud data services such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or GCP Dataflow

  • Experience with data quality, validation, and cleansing techniques

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks for ETL testing and deployment pipelines

  • Understanding of API integration and messaging protocols


Overall Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable data workflows and pipelines

  • Develop, test, and maintain ETL scripts and workflows ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security

  • Optimize data transformation processes for performance, scalability, and supportability

  • Support system upgrades, patches, and deployment activities for data pipelines and related systems

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data anomalies, pipeline failures, and integration issues efficiently

  • Lead efforts to incorporate emerging technologies and best practices into data workflows

  • Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and operational procedures

  • Participate in agile planning, review sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Work with QA teams to validate data and ETL processes, supporting quality assurance efforts


Technical Skills (By Category)

Languages & Frameworks:

  • Required: Python, SQL, Java or Node.js (preferred) for scripting and automation

  • Preferred: Experience with data pipeline orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow or Prefect


Data Management & Warehousing:

  • Required: Extensive experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and data transformation techniques

  • Preferred: Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and cloud data lakes


ETL & Data Integration:

  • Required: Knowledge of ETL platforms such as Informatica, Talend, or equivalent tools

  • Preferred: Data pipeline automation, validation, and testing frameworks


Tools & Platforms:

  • Preferred: Automated testing for data workflows and validation scripts


Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data integration, ETL development, or related fields

  • Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable data workflows in complex environments

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data pipeline issues and optimize performance

  • Experience working with emerging technologies such as blockchain, IoT, or cloud data solutions (preferred)

  • Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or e-commerce data ecosystems is advantageous but not mandatory


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, scripts, and data pipelines aligned with project requirements

  • Monitor data flows, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance in production and staging environments

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to validate data quality and completeness

  • Support system upgrades, patches, and automation initiatives for data pipelines

  • Document workflows, data schemas, and validation procedures comprehensively

  • Assist QA teams in data validation and ETL testing efforts

  • Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and emerging technologies for potential integration or automation

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, deliver progress summaries, and suggest process improvements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Relevant certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or ETL tools are a plus

  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data workflows and pipelines
