Area Vice President, Enterprise Accounts – West Region

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Job Summary

The Area Vice President, Enterprise Accounts – West Region develops and executes enterprise sales strategies that strengthen Abbott Medical Device’s value position with health systems, IDNs, medical groups, and other healthcare partners. This leadership role is responsible for building and maintaining senior-level relationships within assigned regional and national accounts and working collaboratively with sales leadership to drive access and sales performance.

This role leads enterprise account execution by aligning Abbott Medical Device business units to deliver coordinated customer solutions, conducting executive business reviews, and securing optimal positioning within key enterprise accounts.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and execute short‑ and long‑term business plans uniting all relevant Abbott Medical Device divisions to drive enterprise growth
  • Collaborate and consult with sales leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to develop total customer solutions that meet enterprise account needs
  • Develop and expand business within key regional enterprise accounts and assigned national accounts by building strong professional relationships with key decision makers
  • Develop and maintain system‑level relationships with health systems, IDNs, medical groups, and other healthcare intermediaries
  • Identify emerging enterprise customers and adjust team focus and strategy accordingly
  • Engage and partner with customer stakeholders beyond contracting to develop broader solutions and services
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive customer business plans, including external customer reviews and internal performance reviews
  • Steward all financial and non‑financial resources to ensure disciplined execution
  • Manage a team of Enterprise / Corporate Account executives responsible for delivering results in assigned accounts
  • Ensure the development of high‑performance teams and effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrate enterprise thinking by aligning account strategies with Abbott policies, compliance requirements, and ethical standards

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in medical devices or related healthcare industries
  • 7+ years of experience leading sales teams or enterprise account organizations
  • Proven ability to manage complex health system or IDN relationships
  • Demonstrated enterprise thinking and ability to engage across a matrixed organization
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with experience leading cross‑functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a strong sense of urgency
  • Experience in cardiology, vascular, electrophysiology, or related medical device markets
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracting, negotiating strategies, and healthcare purchasing dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information and guide decision making
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory considerations impacting commercial activities

Equipment

Works with cellular phone, personal computer, tablet, and Abbott product and information systems. Operates a motor vehicle for travel to company sites and customer locations and travels by commercial airline as required.

Working Conditions

Work environment includes office and field settings, including hospitals, physician offices, and customer sites. Travel is required and may involve varying conditions associated with customer locations and transportation.

Physical Demands

Job activities require mobility and stamina, including standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity to demonstrate products, operate electronic devices, and handle materials. Lifting requirements are typically up to 25 pounds but may exceed this on occasion. Clear vision, depth perception, and effective communication skills are required.

     

The base pay for this position is

$149,300.00 – $298,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
