GENERAL SUMMARY: 

This position requires knowledge in all facets of the entire Breast Imaging department from performing high quality mammography exams according to department protocols, assisting Radiologists, helps oversees compliance of policies/procedures to ensure departmental standards are met and performs clinical instructions as requested.  Requires a strong working relationship with the Breast Imaging Supervisor and must be capable of leading in her absence. Always follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

Leads daily work schedules of staff and monitors patient schedules to ensure efficient and safe patient flow. Assists leadership in achieving site and system objectives. Demonstrates leadership and conflict resolution abilities through effective problem solving. Assists supervisor with daily tasks, performing quality review analysis, payroll, and scheduling. Helps in maintain a professional work environment. Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer system for verifying orders, charging, viewing schedules and sending images to PACS. Effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical and support staff. Assists with training new staff and with annual competencies. Assists in the interview process/candidate selection.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Training:
  • Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.

  Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ clinical experience at staff mammography technologist level preferred. 

Certification, Licensure, Registration:
  • Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Additional Mammography (ARRT)(M) certification required.

Other Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers at hire through the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.
