Job Summary: The Flex Certified Nursing Assistant is a multi-skilled caregiver and unit clerk who functions under the direction of the Unit Manager. The CNA assists with providing safe, age appropriate care to the resident by performing basic resident care functions (i.e., ADLs, ambulation, vital signs, approved technical procedures) and performs other duties deemed necessary to ensure the delivery of preferred care. In addition the Flex C.N.A provides clerical support and maintains resident paperwork, manages resident outside appointments, orders supplies and support the overall operation of resident care and service. The work schedule/shift may vary/fluctuate depending on the particular needs of the unit. Answer unit phones. Provide unit tours. - Communicate effectively and maintains confidentiality. - Projects a positive attitude. Responsible for meeting general requirements - Maintains attendance/punctuality in accordance with system policy and procedure. - Assists with maintaining a neat and clean facility (picks up papers, reports, spills, etc.) - Maintains confidentiality as outlined in system policies. - Willingly performs other duties as assigned. - Completes task within designed time lines. - Identifies self-learning needs and seeks opportunities for improvement. - Incorporates the philosophy of quality and performance improvement into daily routines. Demonstrates leadership abilities and utilizes sound customer service principles - Addresses inappropriate behavior or poor work performances displayed by staff; documents and communicates such to appropriate individual in accordance with system procedures. - Monitors equipment and environment to assure for the safe and timely delivery of resident care. Accompanies safety team during EOC rounding and corrects issues. - Participates in the orientation/training of new employees. - Responds willingly to special needs of unit/department. - Incorporates quality and performance improvement into daily routines. Demonstrates principles of teamwork within the system/facility/unit - Identifies trust issues and working toward establishing an environment of mutual understanding and respect. - Serves as a positive role model to peers and assigned staff in the delivery of resident care, personal conduct, and personal appearance. - Contributes to the development of cohesive group relations. - Ensures and maintains confidentiality in relation to resident/family/significant other/facility. - Resolves issues through positive problem-solving techniques that promote integrity of all parties involved. Responsible for providing world class person-directed care - Provides resident care under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Unit Manager. - Provides safe environment for provision of resident care. - Follows written assignments and organizes tasks to complete bathing, dressing, toileting of residents and other direct care as needed. - Completes written records before end of shift. - Recognizes and reports to charge nurse variations from usual behavior/status of residents, as well as resident care emergencies and responds appropriately. Clerical Support - Maintains resident paperwork. - Manages resident outside appointments. - Orders unit supplies, resident nourishments. Fax orders to pharmacy. - Assists with maintaining equipment and completes repair requests as needed. - Maintains unit desk area and keep bulletin boards up to date and organized. - Generates all monthly resident care tracking documents for the unit. - Manage resident weight and bath books. Update care guides, and resident photos. - Schedules MD appointments and assists with transportation. - Copy and file documents in resident records. Keep forms up to date and available. - Acts as a contact/representative and resource for residents and family members. - Support overall operation of resident care and service. Required Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma General or GED General
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years related experience Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Must complete orientation and demonstrate proficiency in required functions and tasks related to resident care. Must be able to read, interpret, and understand verbal instructions. ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology. have basic math skills. Must be able to perform under stressful conditions. Must have patience tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and family members.
