What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a motivated multitasker with a strong sense of service, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others. Our ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced (1+ year) in healthcare or food service (preferred)

  • A quick learner who can follow both verbal and written instructions

  • Comfortable using basic computer programs (Microsoft Office and more)

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure

  • Friendly and professional with strong customer service and communication skills

  • Certified in ServSafe or Food Handlers—or willing to get certified within 6 months

  • Bonus: Has barista experience, recipe knowledge, or food prep skills

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, you’ll be a key player in keeping our food service areas running smoothly—supporting everything from prep and stocking to patient service and sanitation. Every task you do helps ensure patients and guests receive safe, delicious, and timely meals. Here’s a snapshot of your daily impact:

  • Practice food safety and sanitation in all areas of your work

  • Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff

  • Operate and set up equipment according to safety standards

  • Follow recipes, production sheets, and daily prep guidelines

  • Accurately record food and equipment temperatures

  • As needed: Serve meals, take patient selections, and deliver trays with care and compassion

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in health care or food service preferred.

  • Possess basic computer skills required.

  • Must be self-motivated, able to perform job duties without direct supervision, and able to work alone, as well as part of a team.

  • Preferred qualifications as applicable to assigned area(s):

    • ServSafe certification or Food Handlers certification.

    • Possess knowledge of food preparation and presentation.

    • Previous Barista experience.

    • Possess excellent customer service skills.

    • Previous experience understanding and following recipes.

  • Additional Logan Health training and/or certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Practices appropriate safety and sanitation measures in the completion of all duties as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Keeps work area clean and organized as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Provides excellent customer service as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Exhibits competency in the operation, assembling, and setting up of equipment in accordance with sanitation standards as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Maintains and keeps stocked service areas per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Accurately follows recipes, production sheets, and provides daily prep as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Accurately records food and equipment temperatures per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Performs patient host duties to include; obtains patient meal selections; provides compassionate service, produces and/or delivers meal trays, etc. per department protocol.

  • The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification.  Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs.  Other duties may be assigned similar to the above consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.  Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Variable - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
