Job Title: Senior Director Procurement Excellence

Global Procurement is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies and effective processes to assure supply and achieve best value. It includes category and commodity management strategies with goals of achieving cost reductions, optimizing value and vendor service levels, improving product quality while guaranteeing material and satisfactory service levels in a global hyper-growth company.

Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Procurement Excellence will lead the architecture, implementation and ongoing management of all procurement systems (direct and indirect) including but not limited to: orchestration, strategic sourcing platform, contract lifecycle management (in collaboration with legal), third party risk management, supplier performance management (score carding, KPI management, etc), spend analytics, savings and avoidance tracking, sustainability and diversity. The role will be accountable not only to how these systems interact with each other, but how they serve Insulet’s greater global business performance through the implementation of innovative solutions for all functional areas.

This position requires expertise in industry-leading tools and practices and proven capability to develop, implement, and manage and optimize best-in-class procurement processes, internal spend-management procedures and KPI’s to effectively support scale-up demands of a global hyper-growth environment.

This position will develop the Procurement Excellence function from the ground up and partner

with stakeholders globally in Finance, Legal, HR, Logistics, Marketing, IT, R&D, Facilities and Supply Chain. The Sr. Director, Procurement Excellence will lead efforts to build relationships with

stakeholders to become trusted advisors focused on value creation. The Sr. Director will set a vision and ensure that processes meet the needs of every are of the company to achieve business objectives. As the function develops, this position will be expected to grow the team to include analysts to facilitate the systems and may expand to other areas within the Source to Pay function.

Responsibilities:

  • Will head Insulet’s strategic sourcing excellence function overseeing policy and process creation, consolidation of technology platforms, procurement intelligence and category management strategies.
  • Leverages technical savvy to digitally transform Insulet’s approach to:
    • Orchestration
    • Strategic sourcing
    • Third party risk management
    • Supplier performance (including sustainability, risk management, supplier ethics and diversity).
    • Spend analytics, savings and avoidance tracking

  • Partners with leaders across the enterprise to influence their procurement practices through data storytelling that is supported by KPIs, metrics, spend analytics and dashboards to support category sourcing and compliance to policies.
  • Advises the business on areas of innovation, technology enablement and continuous improvement by being current with international market trends, industry leaders and relationships with vendors.
  • Acts as change champion who expertly leads/manages stakeholders through new ways of working to build a world-class procurement organization.
  • Collaborate with our Legal, IT, Quality and Global Business Services team to develop and manage a streamlined, effective global sourcing lifecycle management process.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Experience managing systems across the entire supplier lifecycle.

  • Success in developing collaborative relationships at the executive level. Ability to interface with executive leadership team.
  • History of effectively developing talent.
  • Experience leading multicultural teams in a global and complex environment.

Education and Experience:

  • 15+ years of indirect procurement experience, at least 7+ of which were in a management position.
  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline a strong plus.

Additional Information:

  • This role is hybrid and based in Acton.
  • Travel is estimated at 10% but will flex depending on business needs.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,300.00 - $275,400.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
