About the Role

As the Director of Product Marketing Management at Mixpanel, you will have a crucial role in driving the success of the company's products in the market. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and execution of Mixpanel's product marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation. You will also be responsible for overseeing the company's launch program for new products and features.

You will report directly to the VP of Product and work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, brand, and sales enablement. In this role, you will collaborate with product management to develop a deep understanding of Mixpanel's products and services, as well as the target audience and buyer personas.

Overall, as the Director of Product Marketing Management at Mixpanel, you will play a critical role in driving the success of the company's products in the market. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, working closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, sales, and customer support.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services, as well as the target audience and buyer personas.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and messaging that differentiates the company's products in the market and resonates with target audiences.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop sales enablement materials, such as presentations, case studies, and product demos.
  • Manage the product marketing budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve marketing goals.
  • Analyze marketing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and inform future marketing strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of product marketing managers to ensure that marketing initiatives are executed successfully

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • 10+ years product marketing experience
  • 3-5+ years of people management experience
  • Passion about the data and analytics space and helping founders and teams build exciting new products
  • Demonstrated track record of winning Product Marketing Management strategy, with a strong understanding of competitive positioning and enablement
  • An appetite for collaboration, driven by the belief that your success is dependent on the success of others around you
  • A knack for storytelling
  • Enthusiasm for understanding why something is valuable, who will care most, how it’s different, and the right way to talk about it
  • Taste for beautiful design, good copy, and attention to detail
  • Enjoy talking to customers and personally going and testing and figuring out positioning that works
  • Data-driven; you possess an analytical mind and natural inclination to use data to guide decision-making by running surveys and conducting market research to understand segments, priorities, and market/competitor dynamics
