In this role, a strategic mentality is key - a person who can see possibilities and translate them into breakthrough category strategies for the EMEA Marketing categories – Media, Creative & Production, Events and Retail Marketing.

The ideal candidate should have comprehensive procurement category management expertise in order to provide thought leadership and formulate strategic sourcing approaches that optimizes spend across demand, supply and process levers and deep experience on Marketing processes and landscape of the Creative Services.

Strong communications skills and story-telling ability will be essential to effectively influencing within a global matrix organization.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Nike Category Director, you will collaborate with senior leaders and Global Procurement teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive global and regional marketing initiatives.

Your impact:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess business needs using data and market research to guide short- and long-term growth
  • Build relationships with senior executives and stakeholders to enhance collaboration globally
  • Support sourcing strategy development and oversee contract negotiations
  • Ensure strategic alignment with marketing agencies and other business functions
  • Champion diversity, inclusion and accessibility within the agency roster.
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Finance Business Planning & Legal

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Reporting to the EMEA Procurement Director you will be managing the Marketing & Events Procurement team in EMEA.  A team of category & supporting experts.  You will work closely with the Global Procurement Marketing team to build impactful category strategies for the EMEA region.

Business partner engagement will be critical, and you will be responsible for managing and fostering key relationships with both internal partners like Integrated Media, Brand Creative, Retail Marketing Finance and external agencies to integrate NIKE’s purpose statements (Supplier Diversity & Inclusion, Sustainability) and external parties risk screening and mitigation.    

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10 years’ experience in Marketing and/or Marketing Procurement
  • Expertise in EMEA marketing agencies (Media, Creative and Events)
  • Strong procurement, strategic sourcing and category management skills
  • Leadership in global, cross functional teams
  • Strategic influencer with senior stakeholders
  • Project management, including developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
  • Deep knowledge of spend management (TCO approach, demand management, compliance and supplier collaboration).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to define problems and drive solutions
  • Proven experience consulting with business partners, including independently identifying business partner needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
  • Analytical mindset, capable of interpreting cost date, researching market trends and applying best practices
  • Inspiring leadership, coaching teams to innovate, take smart risks and deliver results
  • Agility and adaptability in fast- paces high- performance procurement environment
