As a Sr. PMO Specialist II, you’ll drive IT governance, portfolio management, and strategic planning efforts within a Federal IT department. This role provides expert-level guidance on IT policies, project oversight, and alignment with federal standards and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior government officials to ensure effective governance and strategic decision-making in IT investments.

What you’ll do:
- You’ll assist in the formulation, development, and implementation of comprehensive IT governance frameworks and policies that meet federal standards and organizational needs.
- You’ll facilitate meetings and discussions on IT portfolio compliance with Federal and Agency IT policies, guidelines, and industry standards. Ensure that portfolios are managed effectively and in line with the organization's objectives.
- You’ll support the establishment and operation of an IT governance board and related working groups, ensuring consistent oversight and collaboration across the portfolio.
- You’ll advise government officials on monitoring IT portfolios, programs, and projects to ensure that they are delivered on time, within scope, and under budget.
- You’ll implement industry best practices in IT program and project management methodologies, ensuring consistent application across the portfolio.
- You’ll coordinate and facilitate regular IT portfolio reviews and assessments to track progress, identify risks, and ensure strategic alignment.
- You’ll provide strategic advice on IT investment decisions and resource requirements, helping government leadership make informed choices about prioritization and resource allocation.
- You’ll support the management of the IT project portfolio to ensure alignment with organizational priorities, ensuring that projects contribute effectively to the agency's broader mission.
- You’ll develop and propose IT strategic plans that are aligned with the organization's long-term goals, ensuring that the IT strategy is forward-looking and adaptable to evolving needs.
- You’ll conduct various analyses to inform government leadership and assist in making appropriate IT strategic decisions, ensuring that decisions are data-driven and aligned with federal goals.
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the agency to identify, prioritize, and document IT initiatives, ensuring that all requirements are captured and understood for successful execution.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- An Active Secret security clearance.
- You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- You have a minimum of 7+ years of project management experience.
- You have a minimum of 7+ years of full-time experience in positions directly related to Federal IT Portfolio Management, with a proven track record in managing complex portfolios in a government setting.
- You have in-depth knowledge of and experience in the implementation and application of federal laws, regulations, and policies governing IT Portfolio Management processes and practices. This includes familiarity with standards such as FISMA, 0MB A-130, and other federal guidelines.
- You can demonstrate expertise in the implementation of leading IT governance practices and frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, TBM, PMP, ITIL, and similar methodologies within a federal context.
- You have the ability to develop and execute long-term IT strategies that align with broader organizational goals and priorities. Experience advising senior leadership on strategic IT decisions is highly preferred.
- You have strong experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior government officials, project managers, and technical teams, to drive alignment and ensure successful project execution.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain a high level of client trust and confidence
