Metallurgical Technician

We are looking for a Metallurgical Technician to join our Lansing, NY team.

As our Met Tech, you will work closely with our junior technicians, and the metallurgical team to performs routine tasks, including operating and maintaining equipment, as well as conducting analysis and experimental procedures.

Location: Lansing, NY - IMR Test Labs

Shift: First

Salary: $21-$22/hour

Your Challenge:

  • Using various measuring devices to determine the thickness, plating, coatings on a variety of materials

  • Mounting, polishing, and saw cutting metal and alloy samples using hand tools and/or machines

  • Performing tests on metal samples to determine strength, hardness, etc.

  • Conducting microscopic examinations of metals and alloys

  • Writing data reports based on the tests conducted

What You Bring:

  • MS Suite

  • Familiarity with ASTM & SAE specifications

  • Comfortable operating computer powered equipment

  • Manual dexterity

  • Able to lift 20 lbs. without assistance

  • 1-2 years of related experience

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree or high school + relevant experience
