Job Description

You will manage a team of Embedded software engineers. You will be reporting to a Engineering manager based in Singapore.

You will have opportunities to experience all functional aspects of product development and sustenance activities, while helping us continue to build a world-class engineering organization. You will be leading teams of engineers to make major impacts on product developments, while collaborating with leadership across Engineering, Product Management, Business, Quality, and Operations.

You will build the team's competencies to ensure the design teams in creating excellent design quality, having the right speed in development execution and are lean, efficient, and productive.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading teams of engineers in embedded firmware development and firmware functional test that work in New Product Development and in sustenance activities of our existing products and features.
  • Be a key part of cross functional product development teams, responsible for the creation and execution of product development and delivery strategies to achieve Business goals.
  • Establish good understanding in competitive benchmarking data on how the current company products compare to competitors in functions, features, performance, cost, and inter-connectivity.
  • Practice and increase the use of Agile/SAFe principles and practices. Coach and mentor engineers and be a strong influence in their design decisions to achieve good competitive products.
  • Collaborate closely with Business and Product Management teams to establish product and technology roadmap, estimating resource capacity needs and competencies.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Monitor Goal and main metrics and lead improvement efforts in design capabilities and processes whenever the need arises.
  • Plan and manage budgets and expenditures.
  • Help your team eliminate non-value work by leading improvement activities in design capabilities and processes so your team is the best in creating quality designs and in development execution

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant embedded software development and testing experience in New Product Development and in sustenance engineering activities.
  • Minimum of 6 years technical and people leadership experience, including leading managers and individual contributors in New Product Development and in sustenance engineering activities.
  • Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent. Master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent track record of developing early career talent into effective technical and people leaders.
  • Experience in industrial automation product development or related technical areas, including background with large scale system development projects.
  • Experience working with global team members on multi-campus product development
  • Certification or experience in Agile/SAFe Principles and practices.
